ASB patrols - Ossett

Dear Resident

Officers from North West NPT have increased patrols this week following localised issues and reports of anti-social behaviour.

On Wednesday 29th October, this scooter was seized under the new s.59 legislation following calls from members of the public and earlier in the week, two others were seized due to anti-social behaviour on Owl Lane and Illingworth Street.

As previously reported, A Dispersal Order has been authorised in Ossett town centre from 4pm today (30 October).

The Order has been put in place by our Neighbourhood Policing Team to assist with recent anti-social behaviour concerns in the area. It will run from today until 4pm on Sunday, it means that police officers and designated PCSOs have powers to exclude a person from an area for that entire period.

It also means that individuals aged 10 or over engaging in anti-social behaviour or crime and disorder can be asked to leave the designated area not only when an incident has happened, but also when it is felt that it is likely to happen.

Additionally, it means that a child aged under 16 can be removed to their home address or a place of safety.
